01: International arrival in Lima
Assistance on your international arrival in Lima and transfer to
your selected hotel.
DAY
02: Lima: City Tour & Archaeological Museum
City tour in Lima: the "City of Kings". The tour includes
Lima's Historical Center, visiting
San Martin Square, the Main square, the Government Palace, the City
Hall and the Cathedral. From
here, we continue to The Museum of Anthropology and Archaeology
that comprises the biggest collection of pre-Hispanic objects such
as stone sculptures from Chimu culture, cloths
from Paracas culture, handicrafts of Nazca and Mochica cultures,
and metal
work of Chimu culture,
as
well as paintings,
documents and objects that belonged to important people of Colony
and Republic period of Peru. This
visit will allow you to have a global vision of Peruvian History.
Finally we will visit the residential Districts of San Isidro and Miraflores, passing by the Huaca Pucllana, We will also visit El Olivar Park and Larcomar.

03: Lima / Cusco: City tour and visit to nearby ruins
In the morning transfer to Lima airport to board your flight to
Cusco. Transfer to your selected hotel. Remaining morning free
to rest in your hotel in order to avoid altitude sickness. In
the afternoon, city tour in Cusco visiting the Main Square, the
Cathedral and the Temple of the Sun or Korikancha. Then, we drive
out of the city to visit the Inca sites of Kenko, Tambomachay,
Puca Pucara and the impressive fortress of Sacsayhuaman, strategically
built on a hill overlooking Cusco, famous for its enormous carved
stones.

04: Cusco: Sacred Valley of the Incas
Early morning excursion to the Urubamba Valley, the Sacred Valley
of the Incas. Visit to the picturesque Indian Pisac Market held
on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. In the afternoon, we visit the
Inca Fortress and Citadel of Ollantaytambo, built to guard the entrance
to this part of the valley, and protect it from possible invasion
from the tribes in the lower jungle. You can walk through the quaint
streets of the nearby town, and get a good idea of what this strategic
military, religious, and agricultural center was like during the
era of the Inca Empire.
On our way back to Cusco, if there is enough time available, we
stop of at the picturesque village of Chinchero to visit the ruins
of the royal hacienda of Tupac Inca Yupanqui.
We will admire a well-preserved Inca Wall in the Main Square, and
visit the beautiful colonial temple built on Inca foundations, with
interesting frescoes in the portico.

05: Cusco: Machu Picchu - Aguas Calientes
Early morning transfer to Cusco train station for a three hour train
journey to the famous Inca Citadel of Machu Picchu, also known as
"The Lost City of the Incas". Arrive at Aguas Calientes
station followed by a 30-minute bus drive to the incredible site
of Machu Picchu. Upon arrival, we'll participate in a guided tour
of the Citadel, visiting the Main Plaza, the Circular Tower, the
Sacred Sun Dial, the Royal Quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows
and various burial grounds. After the tour you will have free time
to stroll around and to explore the archaeological site on your
own. Overnight at your selected hotel.

06: Cusco: Aguas Calientes - Cusco
You will have an excellent opportunity to visit Machu Picchu a second
time and enjoy with a beautiful sunrise as well as stroll by the
town of Aguas Calientes and visit its thermal waters. In the afternoon,
back to Cusco by train, and transfer to the selected hotel for overnight.

07: Cusco / Puno
Early departure by bus to the City of Puno. On the way we visit the Church of San Pedro de Andahuaylillas, better known as the Sistine Chapel of the Americas, due to its decorated polychrome ceiling. We also pass by Raqchi, a spectacular Inca Sanctuary built by the Inca Pachacutec, and dedicated to the great Inca God of Wiracocha. It has a great central wall with a stone base of fine Inca architecture. During the trip, we pass through La Raya Ranch where we can see herds of vicuñas and llamas. In the afternoon, arrival to Puno and transfer to the selected hotel.

08: Puno: Titicaca Lake, Floating Islands of the Uros and Taquile
Island.
Early in the morning, we will have a motorboat excursion on the
Lake Titicaca to the unique "Floating Islands" of the
Uros.
These ancient inhabitants of the lake, known as the Water Tribe,
have built their own "islands" by periodically adding
new layers of a type of reed unique to the area called "totora"
(Scirpus Totora).
Their
houses and boats are also made from this material.
We continue our motorboat trip to Taquile island, inhabited by Quechua-speaking
natives who have developed efficient and unique social systems,
as well as fine hand weaving techniques, down through generations.
After lunch in a local Taquile inn, we have a walk through the various
hills and archaeological sites. In the afternoon, return to Puno
for overnight at selected hotel.
DAY
09: PUNO / LIMA: Chullpas of Sillustani on route
Transfer to Juliaca airport to take your flight to Lima. On route,
we will visit the famous Chullpas of Sillustani: stone cylinder
burial chambers used by the Aymaras to bury their important leaders.
Lake Umayo, located in front of the Chullpas, adds further beauty
to the place. Here you also have the opportunity to observe several
local typical birds. Flight to Lima. Upon arrival transfer to your
hotel.

10: LIMA / TRUJILLO: Temples of the Sun and the Moon
In the morning transfer to the airport to board your flight to Trujillo.
Upon arrival transfer to your hotel. Free morning. Optional visit
to the Archaeology Museum upon request. City tour of Trujillo in
the afternoon, visiting the Main Square, Cathedral and Colonial
Mansions. Later, excursion south of Trujillo to visit the Temples
of the Sun and the Moon.

11: TRUJILLO: Chan Chan and Huanchaco
Early morning visit to the Citadel of Chan Chan (10 minutes from
Trujillo), the largest adobe city in the world. After this visit,
trip to the beach and fishing port of Huanchaco. Afternoon return
to Trujillo.

12: TRUJILLO / CHICLAYO
Early in the morning, transfer to Trujillo bus station to take a
bus to Chiclayo. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel. In the afternoon,
Tour of Chiclayo City, including the Market of Medical Herbs. Overnight
in Chiclayo.

13. CHICLAYO: Museum of Royal Tombs and Tucume
Visit to the Museum of Royal Tombs. In the afternoon, visit to the archaeological complex of Tucume or Valley of the Pyramids, (40 minutes from Chiclayo). Return to the hotel in Chiclayo.

14: CHICLAYO: Lord of Sipan
Excursion to the necropolis of Huaca Rajada, a Mochica funeral center
where a great number of tombs have been discovered including the
tombs of the Great Lord of Sipan (3rd Century) and the Lord of Sipan
(5th Century). Return to the hotel.

15: CAJAMARCA
Early morning transfer to Chiclayo bus station for a 3-hour drive
to the city of Cajamarca, passing by the towns of Chepen, the dam
and irrigation works of Gallito Ciego, and the town of Chilete.
Upon arrival in Cajamarca, transfer to hotel. City tour visiting the Ransom Room, a reconstruction of the rooms
that Inca Atahualpa had filled with gold and silver to pay his ransom
to the Spanish Conquerors; the Baroque style Cathedral, built during
the 17th century with foundations taken from an Inca building; the
Church of San Francisco, built in the 18th century; the complex
of Belen; and the ancient Santa Apolonia Hill a natural viewpoint
of the city. Overnight in Cajamarca.

16: CAJAMARCA: the Inca Baths - Ventanillas de Otuzco
Early wake up and tour of Cajamarca countryside, visiting the former
hacienda La Colpa. Close by is the picturesque town of Llacanora,
famous for its reed trumpets several meters long, Then, drive to
the Inca Baths, hot springs baths built by the Incas, with individual
or group bathing. Return to Cajamarca for lunch (not included).
In the afternoon, a 40-minute drive out of Cajamarca to visit Cumbemayo
an archaeological site of Inca irrigation channels believed to have
been built in 1000AD. Then a visit to the Ventanillas de Otuzco,
burial ground carved into a wall of volcanic stone. Proceed to Hacienda
Tres Molinos.
DAY
17: CAJAMARCA: Kuntur Wasi
Afternoon bus transfer
to the district of San Pablo where Kuntur Wasi is located, a pre
Inca religious and administrative center recently discovered by
archaeologists of the University of Tokyo (Japan). Return to the
city of Cajamarca. Overnight.
DAY
18: CAJAMARCA / LIMA
Morning transfer to the airport to board a plane to Lima. Reception
at Lima airport. Transfer to your hotel.
DAY 19: LIMA
At a proper time transfer to the airport to board your international
flight.
