DAY 01: International arrival in Lima
Assistance on your international arrival in Lima and transfer to your hotel.
DAY 02: Lima: Sightseeing Tour & Archaeological Museum
In the afternoon a guided city tour visiting the most attractive and important sites in Lima, the "City of Kings". The tour includes Lima's Historical Center, visiting San Martin Square, the Main square, the Government Palace, the City Hall, the Cathedral, the Cathedral Museum, the Church of Santo Domingo, where the tombs of Saint Rose and Saint Martin of Porras lied, and Lima's Colonial Balconies.
Afterwards we visit The Museum of Anthropology and Archaeology that shows the biggest collection of pre-hispanic objects such as stone sculptures from Chimu culture, clothes from Paracas culture, handicrafts of Nazca and Mochica cultures, and metal work of Chimu culture, as well as paintings, documents and objects that belonged to important people of Colony and Republic period of Peru. This visit will allow you to have a global vision of Peruvian History.
Finally we will visit the residential Districts of San Isidro and Miraflores, passing by the Huaca Pucllana, We will also visit El Olivar Park and Larcomar.
DAY 03: Lima / Cusco: City tour and visit to nearby ruins
In the morning transfer to Lima airport to board your flight to Cusco. Meet upon arrival and transfer to your selected hotel. Remaining morning free to rest in your hotel in order to avoid altitude sickness.
In the afternoon, we will have a guided city tour of Cusco visiting the Main Square, the Cathedral and the Temple of the Sun or Korikancha Then, we drive out of the city to visit the Inca sites of Kenko, Tambomachay, Puca Pucara and the impressive fortress of Sacsayhuaman, strategically built on a hill overlooking Cusco and famous for its enormous carved stones, some of them standing over 9m / 30ft high and weighing over 350 tons. Return to the hotel.
DAY 04: Cusco: Sacred Valley of the Incas
Early morning excursion to the Urubamba Valley, the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Visit to the picturesque Indian Pisac Market held on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday, the shopping paradise of the Andes where barter is still practiced.
Enjoy the unique atmosphere during a typical lunch.
In the afternoon, passing through the towns of Calca and Urubamba, we visit the Inca Fortress and Citadel of Ollantaytambo, built to guard the entrance to this part of the valley, and protect it from possible invasion from the tribes in the lower jungle. You can walk through the quaint streets of the nearby town, and get a good idea of what this strategic military, religious, and agricultural center was like during the era of the Inca Empire. On our way back to Cusco we stop of at the picturesque Andean village of Chinchero to visit the ruins of the royal hacienda of Tupac Inca Yupanqui. We will admire a well-preserved Inca Wall in the Main Square, and visit the beautiful colonial temple built on Inca foundations, with interesting frescoes in the portico.
Late afternoon return to your selected hotel for overnight.
Evening free. We suggest strolling around the Main Square and enjoy the night atmosphere trying a delicious Pisco Sour in some of the many pubs around the Square.
Note: The visit to the village of Chinchero depends on the time available.
DAY 05: Cusco: Machu Picchu - Aguas Calientes / Cusco
The day starts with an early morning rise to transfer to Cusco train station for a three hour train journey to the famous Inca Citadel of Machu Picchu, also known as "The Lost City of the Incas". Arrive at Aguas Calientes station followed by a 30-minute bus drive, climbing 6km of winding road, to the incredible site of Machu Picchu. Upon arrival, we'll participate in a guided tour of the Citadel, visiting the Main Plaza, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Sun Dial, the Royal Quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows and various burial grounds. After the tour you will have free time to stroll around the archaeological site on your own. Lunch at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, back to Cusco by train, and transfer to your hotel.
Evening free. Overnight at your selected hotel.
DAY 06:Cusco/Puerto Maldonado
In the morning transfer to Cusco airport to board your flight to Puerto Maldonado. Reception at the airport and transportation to the WASAÍ Maldonado Lodge, where you will receive a welcoming tropical fruit beverage. You will embark for a 3 to 4 hour motorboat trip up the Tambopata river to WASAI Tambopata Lodge & Research Center (box lunch on board). During the trip into the heart of the rain forest we will be able to observe clouds of butterflies, typical Amazon communities , while groups of birds pass over the boat and animals such as capybaras turtles and caiman. Reception and accommodation at Wasai lodge Tambopata.
Introductory walk to understand rainforest ecosystems and see some of the amazing trees . Return to the lodge for dinner.
After dinner we will return to the river to search for caimans ( type of alligator) . We will enjoy diverse sounds of the jungle which will accompany our first night in the amazon. Sleep at Wasai tambopata eco lodge.
DAY 07: WASAI Tambopata Lodge & Research Center
Spectacular birding tour and nature trip: Wake up early (5 am) and travel up the Tambopata River for an our and half to the Bahuaja- Sonene National Park. You will see a magical sunrise and it is a great opportunity to see animals such as capybaras, tapir , Jaguar, and deer in the surrounding virgin forest. We will observe ( from an appropriate distance) one of the greatest spectacle of the rainforest: Hundreds of parrots, parakeets and macaws of varius species, enjoying their diet of mineral salts on a river bank. We will have a hot drink and a snack whilst watching birds and go for a short walk to look for animals such as monkeys. We will return to to the lodge to have a late breakfast, and rest.
After lunch we will enter the verdant jungle on a special trail to observe wild life. We will then enter the territory of peccaries, deer, and others, with the possibility to hear or see the tracks of them, or discovering a troop of monkeys traveling through the forest in search of food. Time permitting, we will be able to enjoy a relaxing swim in the cascade of the cat.After dinner we can make another trip through the jungle, search for caimans or relax in our lodge surrounded by exotic nocturnal sounds.

DAY 08: River Journey to Puerto Maldonado
Breakfast and transportation to the airport by boat. New chance to enjoy the fantastic sunrise in the amazon rainforest , landscapes, and many birds.
