DAY 01: CUSCO / LIMATAMBO / CACHORA
Transfer by bus from Cusco to Cachora. Campsite at Pampa Waqcha.
DAY 02: PAMPA WAQCHA / WAYNA QALLI / ROSALINA
After breakfast, we walk towards Colmena. Meanwhile we can observe the Chanchamayo River passing also through Cachora. We pass by Pampa Pucaira toward the Apurimac Canyon. After leaving behind Chanchaillu (complex of springs), we ascend towards Wayna Qalli (viewpoint) from where we can admire part of the archaeological complex of Choquek'irao. Apart from that, we have an impressing view of the snow-capped peaks of the Vilcabamba mountain range. Afterwards, we descend towards Cuca Masana - flora and fauna start changing - until we arrive at our campsite at Playa Rosalina.
DAY
03: ROSALINA / MARANPATA / RAQAYPATA
Considered as an arduous day, due to the early starting ascend towards the mountains of the Cusco region (Maranpata). The trek offers the possibility to observe orchids and violets as well part of the typical fauna such as deer ant-eaters. After relaxing in Maranpata we continue towards Raqaypata where we can admire a great variety of orchids. Campsite on the bank of the Chunchullmayo River.
DAY
04: RAQAYPATA / CHOQUEQIRAO / SANTA ROSA
Our day is dedicated to the visit of Choqueqirao since our campsite is located at just one hour from the complex. Guided visit and time at leisure to explore the complex with its eight sectors including barns, fortresses and terraces.
DAY
05: SANTA ROSA / CACHORA / CUSCO
During our hike towards Cusco, we can admire the canyon that forms the Apurimac River using the trail that passes through the gorge of the canyon. From Wayna Qalli we have an impressive view of the canyon considered one of the most spectacular in South America. Upon arrival at Cachora we take the bus back to Cusco.
