CORDILLERA HUAYHUASH

DAY 1: HUARAZ- CHIQUIAN - LLAMAC
4 hours bus ride South of Callejón de Huaylas to the vicinity of Conococha the same name of the Lake in the area, the road forks to the town of Chiquian where we take a small rest before we continue through a rough road to the vicinity of Llamac where our first camp is waiting (2,800mts) (L, D)

DAY 2 : LLAMAC - JAHUACOCHA
Our day walk starts through hillsides up to our fist pass of Pampa Llamac (14,333ft, 4,300mts), afterwards we descend by a rocky trail that will finally lead us to Jahuacocha, from here we have spectaculars views of the lagoons Jahuacocha and Solterococha and views of Yerupaja norte (20,403fts, 6,121 mts). Camping (B;L;D)

DAY 3 : JAHUACOCHA (Dia libre)
Day at leisure or to explore the lakes of Solterococha and Rasacocha, here in this place we will find remains of an aircraft crashed over the Jirishanca snow-capped mountain in 1954. Every year with ice avalanches the peak eject remains of the aircraft down to the foothills base of the lakes Solterococha. The view is fantastic to make pic nic during the exploration. Today we make Pachamanca for the night. Camping (B;L;D)

DAY 4 : JAHUACOCHA - RONDOY - CUARTELHUAIN
From Jahuacocha we will take the left hand side of Lakes Jahuacocha and Solterococha to direct to the Sambunya pass in the Rondoy Gorge, from here we have spectaculars views of Pallca Valley where there is situated the Mitsui Mine, afterwards we descend towards our last campsite in Cuartelhuain, the views are gorgeous here. DAY 5: CUARTELHUAIN - PACHACOTO - HUARAZ
Today we return to Huaraz by bus. We go first mts) following the San Juan river we descend to the Town of Huallanca then we continue up to our second pass of Huarapasca (15,933fts, 4,780 mts) from here we get the first views of Cordillera Blanca with spectaculars Puyas Raymondi (High bromelias of up to 80 mts), then we continue our drive through Pachacoto until we find the junction with the main road that will take us to the city of Huaraz (B)
